cooking with composers

Content Bible
by: Trevor Morris

CWC is an unscripted Life Style program, based around 2 Top Composers (Film, TV, Video Game, Concert Stage, Pop) cooking a meal together, sharing food and wine, as well as ideas thoughts and experiences from the world of Composing music at the highest level.

The CWC program is hosted by Trevor Morris (passionate and Avid cook, Level-1 Sommelier, and wine collector) and offers one guest to join him in his home or theirs to conceptualize, plan, shop, and cook a gourmet meal along with high-end wine pairings as they converse and muse about a life spent in Music.

This sort of Life Style program format has proven successful many times, mostly among 2 chefs in which the show behaves in a similar fashion (ie: Eric Ripert).

The inspiration for CWC and what sets this program apart are two things:

  1. The Candid and insider view into the mind of a top composer sharing their wisdom, career experiences in a casual and inviting atmosphere (something rarely seen)
  2. Composers who often find the ethos, discipline and enjoyment of Food & Wine very similar to that of Composing Music, and therefore are passionate "Foodies" and "Wine Aficionados". Many top composers are also avid Wine Collectors. Exploring the parallels and similarities between how music is conceived, executed and enjoyed. In addition, Food and Wine will also be a topic of conversation.

The formate of CWC is 30 Minutes long, a two camera shoot, with the stage being Trevor's kitchen or the kitchen of the guest composer.

Basic editing, graphic overlays and audio post production would follow

Who is Trevor Morris?

The Formate - CWC

The first 45 seconds CWC:

  1. 30 second teaser / recap at the head to spark viewer attention. Including highlights from the program, possible "B Footage" of the guest composer at the farmers market or choosing a wine etc, as well as interview footage of Trevor explaining and introducing our guest composer to our audience (along with their body of work ad their accomplishments).
  2. 15 second main title sequence (music by Trevor Morris) in montage format from previous composer guests, intercut with footage of Trevor in his studio, writing, conducting from the podium (etc.) with short CWC graphic at the end.

The next 5 minuets of CWC:

  1. "Meet and Greet" to start the show as the composers say hello and share what meal they are going to cook on the episode.
  2. Guest composer will always be invited to make a signature cocktail of theirs, while Trevor starts to organize - casual chatter begins.
  3. Short intercuts to interview footage of the two composers (shot afterwards)

**There will be some basic stylized graphic overlays on occasion / as needed to inform the audience of what the composers are referring to both musically (ie: a director they are referring to or project they are working on) and culinary wise (a cooking technique they are using for instance "sous vide").

The Next 20 minuets of CWC:

This is the body of the program, and is uninterrupted footage and editing of the 2 composers cooking their meal, talking about food & wine, and of course music. Trevor will guide the guests to open cup about hoe they got into the field of composing music, how they work, what makes them tick both musically and in their life (which is likely what our core audience tuned in to see and hear). Of course ending with them sitting down to eat and enjoy their meal together, as the conversation continues.

The final 5 minuets of CWC:

The finale will always entail a "Fun and Improvised" conclusion to the show, where the 2 composers (likely a little tipsy) make a trip to their home studios, or to their wine cellar or just to shoot a game of pool over laughter and Joie de Vive.

Slow fade to black, end credits with music provided by our guest composer.
